Bhandal Headquarters & Dental Surgery, Headquarter Building & Dental Surgery

Following a competitive single stage Design & Build tender, Bhandal & Associates awarded A&H Construction & Developments PLC the Contract to build their new Headquarter Building, incorporating Dental Surgeries and Dental Training, to offer the latest treatments through its ‘State of the Art’ facilities.

Construction followed the demolition of the existing residential properties upon the site.  Spread over three storey’s, the construction of the building consists of traditional load-bearing brick and blockwork walls bearing upon traditional strip footings. 

Precast concrete slabs bearing upon the load-bearing brick and blockwork walls provided the ground and upper floors.  The roof is a traditional truss and tiled pitched roof and external brickwork walls incorporate specialist stonework features to windows and capping’s.

Internally metal stud partitions were utilised to divide the areas into the required reception, offices, waiting areas, treatment and storage rooms.  The internal finishes such as the joinery, ceilings, decoration and specialist mechanical and electrical equipment were installed making it one of the most modern Dental Surgery’s in the West Midlands.  Careful co-ordination was essential between the sub-contractors and specialist dental equipment sub-contractors to ensure smooth installation.  Externally car parking facilities were constructed for visitors and patients to the Dental Surgery.

Being located upon a main highway made for a very busy and confined construction site. 

To ensure a smooth construction process ‘just in time’ deliveries of materials were co-ordinated months in advance and restricted delivery time imposed during peak traffic hours.

The project was completed on budget and to Programme.
