Woodsetton Medical Centre, Multi-Practice Medical Centre & Pharmacy

Following a competitive design and build single stage tender, A & H Construction were awarded the Contract to build a new Multi-Practice Medical Centre to meet the growing needs of the local community.

Within a footprint of 8000 square feet, works comprised of a two storey Multi-Practice Medical Centre and Pharmacy.

The general building is of traditional construction with a tiled roof on trussed rafters bearing on structural brickwork and reinforced concrete foundations, precast concrete forms the first floor, plant room and stairs.

The external cavity walls comprise of an outer skin of facing brickwork, insulated cavity, with an internal skin of concrete blockwork faced with plasterboard and skin.  The windows are powder coated double glazed units.

Internal joinery is painted softwood except for the steamed beech veneered internal flush doors.  Electrical and mechanical services exist within the wall finishes and above the suspended ceilings.  The building incorporates an 8 person, 630 kg, Traction Passenger Lift.

The Pharmacy was constructed to a shell stage only for fitting-out by others.

All associated external works were carried out including car parking and landscaping.
