Gulliver's Truck Hire Limited, Truck Maintenance Facility, Two-Storey Offices, Tyre Store, Valet Canopy & Vehicle Wash Building

Formed over 50 years ago, Gulliver’s Truck Hire has become one of the largest Commercial Vehicle Hire Company's in Great Britain, with several Depots’ across the Country, Brownhills being their first Midlands Depot.

Works comprised of a Truck Maintenance facility with integral Two-Storey Offices, Tyre Store, Valet Canopy and Vehicle Wash building.

Following demolition of the existing structure, the stockpile of partly crushed demolition material was re-cycled and re-used beneath the building footprint in order to achieve the required formation levels, which not only saved a considerable amount of money for the Client but also helped the environment.

The project involved the erection of a two-storey steel portal-framed building upon a reinforced concrete pad and ground beam foundations, with the installation of precast concrete stairs to link the two floors.  The roof was clad with profiled steel and incorporated roof lights, a mansafe fall prevention system and traditional rainwater gutter and down-pipes.  Traditional cavity walls were formed with a facing brick external skin, incorporating powder coated overhead shutters, double glazed curtain walling, windows and external doors.  Internal walls were of plasterboad and decorative finish.  Specialist equipment and services, including VOSA Inspection Pits were installed for the Truck Maintenance facility.

External works included all incoming statutory services, vehicle parking and hard and soft landscaping.
