Robert Wiseman Dairies, Milk Processing Facility & Distribution Centre
Located on approximately six hectares of land construction works consisted of a steel framed, metal clad main Dairy Building covering a plan area of approximately 150 x 120 metres over three storeys.
The Dairy incorporates a two million litre Raw Milk Storage facility, Milk Pasteurisation facility, 600,000 litre Finished Milk Storage facility, 38,000 sqft Blow Moulding Plant for Bottle Production, 36,000 sqft Bottle Filling Hall, 75,000 sqft fully automated Bottle Store facility, 60,000 sqft Packaging Milk Production and Distribution Chiller, 80,000 litre Underground Storage facility for on site treatment and recycling of water, to include four independent drainage systems comprising of Milk Effluent (PH2-PH11), Foul, Surface Water and Harvested Rainwater and a 35,000 sqft Effluent Treatment Plant.
The project included the construction of a three storey Office Block, Gatehouse with Automatic Barriers, a 10,000 sqft steel framed and profile metal clad Vehicle Maintenance building with a two storey Amenity Block, Trailer Wash building and external Vehicle Wash Bay with refuelling area, Biomass Boiler House and associated mains services.
Acting as Principal Contractor we not only had to co-ordinate our own sub-contractors but also co-ordinate the works specialist contractors, which were specified by the Client. This allowed us to have full project control and co-ordination enabling us to deliver the best possible programme for the Client.
External works included 600,000 sqft of concrete and asphalt for the service yards and roads, and associated landscaping.
