Stourbridge Lawn Tennis & Squash Club, Extension to Existing Changing Rooms

Stourbridge Lawn Tennis & Squash Club is set in an enviable rural location making it one of the premier Clubs of its type in the Midlands.

Due to an ever increasing range of sports and leisure facilities A&H Construction were awarded a contract to design and build an extension to increase the capacity of the existing changing rooms.

Prior to commencement of the works we installed temporary changing and shower facilities enabling the demolition of the existing facilities.  The construction itself is a load bearing brickwork solution upon mass concrete foundations. 

Internal floor work and ceiling finishes consisted of blockwork/stud partitions with plaster finishes and suspended plasterboard of ceilings, including all associated decorative finishes and fixings.  We installed all internal mechanical and electrical services, including electrical distribution, heating and ventilation plant/equipment, lighting, security .and fire protection.

Externally we successfully installed all necessary services and connections, retaining walls, roadways, car parking, pavements, drainage and landscaping works.

The exclusive club remained operational throughout the  works and by utilising our collaborative nature with the Client we successfully ensured the health, safety and welfare of the staff, visitors and members of the facility throughout the works. Located at the heart of the facility little space was available beyond the footprint of the new extension which led to a tight site making conditions which we have become accustomed to working with.
