Barr Beacon Language College, New Language & Drama Facility

Located within a picturesque semi-rural setting Barr Beacon Language College is a mixed 11-18 year old Foundation School with 1400 pupils.

Prior to the main construction works, a detailed cut and fill exercise was carried out thus eliminating any cart-away and costs associated with it.

The works comprised the construction of a two storey ‘Language Facility Building’ containing Classrooms, Drama Workshop, associated Staff, Welfare and Common areas including two staircases; the gross internal floor area being 1120 square metres.

This prestigious new development which is adjacent to the sports field was built on an existing car park between existing classroom buildings and the gymnasium, which naturally lead to working on a restricted site with little or no storage areas. 

Strict ‘just in time’ deliveries were implemented thus preventing complications in the construction of the project and not hindering the Colleges’ daily activities.  No delivery periods were applied to prevent unwanted clashes at school arrival and departure times.

Works included associated services and landscaping.
