Stafford & Stone Canoe Club, new Club House
Following a competitive single stage Design & Build tender, Stafford & Stone Canoe Club awarded A&H Construction the contract to build their new Club House. Stafford & Stone Canoe Club being the Country’s number one Club in the Olympic sport of Canoe Slalom.
Works were located at the site of the existing canoe Club House and comprise of the following:-
- Demolition and removal of the existing Club House and Boat Store
- Erection of a traditional cavity brickwork building, incorporating steel wind-posts on reinforced concrete ground beam foundations on driven precast concrete piles
- Beam and block flooring built off the RC foundations with insulation, reinforced screed topping and underfloor heating
- Tiled timber trussed roof incorporates Velux rooflights, Monodraught sunpipes and bat box provisions
- All mechanical and electrical services; including the installation of a ground source heating solution, small power distribution, ventilation systems, lighting, security, fire protection and lift installation
- All associated decorative finishes and fixings
- External works include all necessary services, retaining walls, roadways, pavements, car parking and landscaping works
- Drainage systems incorporated foul drains connected to the existing sewer and surface water drainage to a soakaway
