A&H have found themselves in good company with the prestigious list including major household names such as Virgin Trains, Pret A Manger and Loganair. Other notable inclusions are clothing manufacturer Barbour and Merlin Entertainments, the world's 2nd largest visitor attraction operator.
The list, which was printed in a special Sunday Times supplement, draws attention to A&H's impressive customer portfolio which features such prestigious names as Corus, Matalan, A & J Mucklow, St Modwen, and Folkes Holdings. It also recognises the firm's wide and diverse customer mix as a key factor in its outstanding growth rate. The leisure, commercial and industrial markets have all been extensively and successfully catered for and the company has considerable experience in the local authority sector with a broad range of construction projects for schools, colleges and medical centres.
The £48million milk production facility in Somerset for Robert Wiseman Dairies was also highlighted - a project which demonstrated that, as well as maintaining a high level of service to clients on smaller local schemes, A&H can successfully manage major projects outside the region.
Managing Director Barry Adams who co-founded A&H in 1986 is delighted that the company has been so prominently represented in the list.
"Years of hard work across the Midlands region have earned us a strong reputation for excellence so I am naturally very pleased that our success is being recognised on a national level. This achievement is a reflection of the commitment and dedication of the whole team".
A&H was honoured at an awards dinner held at The Dorchester Hotel in London on 16 June, along with the other companies in the Profit track 100, and where they were nominated for a special award.
International Safety Award

A&H Construction has won this accolade for 8 consecutive years.
For an organisation to win this coveted award it must demonstrate that it has in place comprehensive health and safety policies, targeted plans and a clear commitment to health and safety from the shop floor to the boardroom. It must be committed to the promotion of a positive safety culture. The winning organisation must also have demonstrated the competence of those responsible for the management of health and safety and provide clear evidence about the improvements they have achieved in health and safety during the year.
Mr Brian Nimick, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, says: For more than 50 years, BSC has led the way in promoting health, safety and environmental best practice in society. In the 2151 century, many organisations worldwide are understandably making health, safety and environmental management their top priority. Through achieving an International Safety Award, A&H Construction is helping to make our vision of a healthy and safe working environment a reality."
The Prime Minister added his congratulations; "I am delighted to send my congratulations to all of those organisations being presented with an award by the British Safety Council. These awards recognise the crucial success that these organisations and their employees have achieved in their pursuit of excellence in the management of health, safety and environmental matters at an international level. The event provides an opportunity to publicly recognise the important contribution made by the British Safety Council in promoting health, safety and environmental best practice. I would like to place on record my appreciation of the support given by the Council in raising public awareness of the benefits effective health, safety and environmental management brings to business, employees, the environment and the economy as a whole."
