Daher Sawley Limited, Office & Warehouse Development

St Modwen Ventures awarded A & H Construction the Contract to build a new Office and Warehouse development for Daher Sawley in Derby.

The Design & Build project comprised the construction of a 70,000 square foot, highly serviced industrial production facility with associated two storey offices.

The works commenced with the erection of a steel portal frame on concrete pad and strip foundations, inclusive of the internal two storey Office Complex and mezzanine floor.

Internal precast concrete upper floors and stairs were installed to create the two storey offices.  The external envelope was constructed from a mixture of concrete brick and blockwork, flat panel roof and wall cladding and aluminium curtain walling systems.  Electrically operated sectional insulated shutter doors to vehicle loading bays were also installed.

Internally, the offices were finished with stud partitions and plaster finishes, demountable partitioning systems, suspended and plasterboard ceilings, kitchen installations, toilets and ancillary accommodation to the office areas.

All appropriate mechanical and electrical services were installed including electrical distribution, voice, data, heating and ventilation plant and equipment, lift installation, lighting, security, fire protection and all associated decorative finishes and fixings.

Externally, the project included the formation of extensive concrete yards with heavy duty craneage and storage buildings, roadways, pavements, parking, foul and surface water drainage, service connections, a gatehouse and landscape works.
